Facility: Ranger Lodge Conference Centre is in Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, about an hour outside of Thunder Bay. It has two wings of bedrooms, communal sitting areas, a large kitchen and a conference room. Both wings have shared bathrooms with showers, and one wing has an accessible washroom. Each of the 15 bedrooms has two beds, however we only assign one person per room unless otherwise requested. Rooms are basic and do not include a desk. The conference room functions as a quiet work space and yoga studio during the day.
A few years ago, we added a cabin to our booking to accommodate our Reynards (male foxes) and anyone else who prefers to be in a building with less activity but still close enough to share meals and social events.
Participants are asked to bring their own bedding, however, special arrangements will be made for anyone attending from out of town.
Other Info: There is limited cell service in Sleeping Giant Park, but wifi is available in Ranger Lodge. All activities/session are optional. Everyone will be asked to pitch in to help with kitchen duties (washing dishes, setting table, helping put out food.) While you are welcome to join us for a shorter retreat if your schedule cannot accommodate a three night getaway, we are unable to provide reduced pricing for shortened stays.
In addition to "retreating", participants are welcome to take advantage of park facilities including an extensive network of cross country ski trails, snowshoe or winter hiking trails and a flooded skating loop. Bring your own equipment.
Paid registration is required to hold a spot and is first come, first served. Click the button below to SAVE YOUR SPOT! Registration deadline January 15, 2026.
*Note: accommodations are paid up until the morning of Feb. 17 and participants are welcome to stay in Ranger Lodge the night of the 16th. However, food and programming are not provided the evening of the 16th, and if you choose to stay on, there is a risk we'll put you to work cleaning up! :-)
